Manager, Digital Strategy

We are looking for a Manager, Digital Strategy to play an important supporting role as we explore emerging technology solutions. You will be a part of a small Digital Strategy internal consulting team that will work directly with C level officers to translate corporate strategic priorities into Digital & Technology investment priorities.
The job holder is highly skilled at communicating and can translate abstract concepts into written communications and presentations, communicating in a clear and data driven manner. He or she is skilled at project management and is highly motivated to get things done. He or she establishes efficient and effective processes and is able to move the ball forward with multiple stakeholders and among competing priorities.
The individual has experience working with teams with retail, digital, and technical backgrounds and can converse fluently across these domains. In this role, you will also have the opportunity to develop strong relationships with senior executives, and provide analysis, insights, and guidance.

In this role you will:
  • Assist in the creation of digital strategies and business cases to support Best Buy’s transformation efforts through collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Analyze and synthesize complex information from many sources
  • Perform detailed analysis of specific aspects of the technology landscape and market trends
  • Research new digital capabilities and emerging technologies and assess their impact, opportunities and threats, to shape the strategic direction of technology innovation efforts
  • Build and manage project plans for team and cross-functional initiatives
  • Participate in creating clear, compelling presentations that helps drives to decisions
  • Monitor metrics and create benchmarks of success
  • Project Manages and tracks team initiatives to ensure
  • Develop agendas and materials, and drive execution for key internal and external milestone meetings (e.g., board materials, Corporate Monthly Reports)
  • Participate in generating standard or custom reports, supports summaries of business, financial, or economic data for review by executives, managers, clients, and other stakeholders to drive long-range strategy and partnership decisions.
  • Lead/contribute to operational initiatives, as needed
  • Stay current on key publications and share findings with key stakeholders (e.g., scientific literature, analyst
  • Acting as point of contact for external partners (licensing partners)
  • Develop agendas and materials, and drive execution for key internal and external milestone meetings (e.g., board materials, Corporate Monthly Reports)
Minimum Requirements
  • 3 or more years of strategy experience
  • 1 or more years of experience working within matrix environments and demonstrating the ability to work cross functionally
  • Knowledge of digital trends and the application of technology in a business environment
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelors or advanced degree in IT, computer science, engineering, business, design, human computer interaction or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 6 or more years of strategy experience
  • Prior work experience is in a consulting capacity within retail, digital or technology areas
  • Previous experience with project financials and resource allocations
  • Excellent communication skills; both orally and in writing. Ability to communicate to a wide spectrum of cross-functional team members.
