Director of Product Management – HR Transformation

Best Buy is seeking a Director of Product Management – HR Transformation to join the People Technology Product Team to modernize our HR practice by creating and transforming talent hub, leveraging skills as currency and lead high performing teams of Product Managers serving the complex portfolio of HR (Core HR, Total Rewards, Talent & Performance, HR Analytics, Workforce Planning) with Workday implementation efforts. You will be at the center of the magic and champion product experience, agile ways of working, shape the strategy and alignment from senior leadership, key stakeholders across the organization with outcome and measurement focus. As a Director of Product Management, you will be building and leading empowered teams creating new products as well as supporting Best Buy’s significant growth and evolution. This leadership position will tap into your talents from incubating new products, investing in existing products, working with enterprise leaders to align on the most valuable product outcomes supporting the adoption of product management practices, fostering inclusive leadership, evolving team and organizational design, and pioneering of new ways of working while enabling human-centered design to deliver against key outcomes.

You will be an advocate for users, a creative problem solver, and an impactful leader. You will have a demonstrated history of defining product strategy, set and drive outcomes on a quarterly basis that meet the needs of the user, accomplishing this both through their work, and by leading and inspiring teams. You'll be challenged to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to build and lead your teams through empowerment, engagement, and continuous improvement as we partner with our many stakeholders on a daily basis to stay aligned and focused on common goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Craft and drive complex product(s) and experience vision across a matrixed organization
  • Proficiently lead long term vision strategically aligned to the organizational goals
  • Mastery in translating business needs into customer goals and features
  • Mastery in both crafting the strategy and overall execution for a highly complex product line or multiple product lines
  • Demonstrate empathy and deliver against core employee value proposition, steer discussions to how to build trust and Best Buy's strategic and financial goals
  • Reduce system constraints (resource, financial, technology) to build long-term customer engagement and brand love
  • Demonstrate the test / learn / iterate mindset
  • Lead teams to innovate and transform by embracing new ways of working.
  • Demonstrate an innovative mindset and find ways to push through adversity.
  • Analyze product performance through qualitative and quantitative analysis tools and processes
  • Build relationships, influence, and lead various cross-functional business, product teams and gain alignment to deliver amazing products
  • Represent teams at executive deep dives and share the bold vision and progress on a regular cadence
Minimum Qualifications
  • 6+ years experience in product management or consulting within retail, digital or technology areas
  • 3+ years experience in strategy creation, customer focused solutions, cross-functional leadership, etc.
  • 5+ years formal leadership experience and demonstrated success developing engaged, inclusive teams
  • 1+ years relevant experience in HR Technology (Workday preferred but not required) with focus on strategy creation,
  • Bachelors or advanced degree in IT, computer science, engineering, business, design, human computer interaction or related field or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of relevant Product Management Experience (Strategy, Development, User experience, Strategy, etc.) or HR Technology (Workday preferred but not required) with focus on strategy creation, customer-focused solutioning, cross-functional leadership, etc.
  • 6+ years of experience with direct people management and team management
  • Ability to communicate to a wide spectrum of cross-functional team members, including technical and business resources and influence
  • Executive presence including ability to lead and influence without direct authority
  • Ability to hire, lead, and develop high-performing product management teams
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships at all levels and ensuring teams create a collaborative culture
  • Ability to work in ambiguity and break-down ambiguity into actionable items over distinct time horizons
  • Proven self-starter with demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
