Best Buy is seeking a Product Manager - Tool Strategy to join the Data Development Operations Team to lead a high performing team serving the Enterprise Roadmap to develop and maintain Business Intelligence (BI) & Analytical tool roadmap in partnership with Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) team.

As a Product Manager, you will partner with key internal teams, engage in BI tool research, and recommend & rationalize the need for BI tools related to data product, data environment and use cases, supporting both customer needs and business objectives. As a champion of your strategy and customers, you will evangelize your strategy and obtain buy-in from key stakeholders across the organization, including executive leadership.

You will demonstrate keen skills working across departments to collaborate with product managers, engineers, and various teams across the enterprise ( Legal, Procurement, EDP, Privacy, and business teams)

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing an analytics tool strategy; determine and implement industry best practices. Evaluate New Tech in partnership with EDP
  • Manage the BI & Analytical Tool Portfolio (Reporting, Advanced Analytics, Data Wrangling, Machine Learning Technology, etc.)
  • Articulate, prioritize and roadmap business needs for analytics tools; identify capability gaps, research & assess tools and assist with Proof of Concepts (POC) and testing
  • Evaluate third party products and services to support the data management strategy
  • Demonstrate skills in connecting Best Buy's broader strategic vision to their own product and product vision
  • Effectively translate business strategies into product strategies, value increments, and product specifications to deliver against our core customer value propositions, and our company strategic and financial goals
  • Demonstrate empathy for the customer and steer discussions to how to build customer trust
  • Influence cross functional team(s) without formal authority
  • Work within a matrix organization collaborating with business stakeholders, data warehousing and cloud teams, engineers, and other relevant digital and technology and business teams
  • Improve value creation by defining and aligning on KPIs to measure success
  • Work under rapid development cycles with medium to large teams to achieve a common goal
  • Oversee contract management, capacity management & forecasting of BI tools and licenses.
Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years of relevant Product Management Experience (Development, User experience, Strategy, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience with BI / Analytical tools
  • 1+ years of experience with direct people management and team management
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in strategy creation, customer-focused solutioning, cross-functional leadership, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing or related field OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 4+ years of relevant Product Management Experience (Development, User experience, Strategy, etc.)
  • 4+ years of relevant experience with analytic and or data warehouse technologies.
  • 1+ years of experience with direct people management and team management
  • Proven track record of owning and delivering innovative experiences to customers
  • Ability to understand basic process flows, data flows, and architectural diagrams
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into business and product requirements
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, evaluate outcomes, and challenge conventional wisdom
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate complex issues and influence others, including business and technical leaders
