We are seeking a Associate Engineer of Carrier Network Services to join the Best Buy Digital & Technology team. This individual would focus on the support of an established portfolio of complex voice & data products and services. They are responsible for adhering to the end-to-end business process required to procure, order, process, pay and allocate expenses for telecommunications services provided at the appropriate rates, as well as the expense and data analytics to manage and control telecom costs. This position is responsible for the implementation of voice/data services based on a specific infrastructure or project requirements. This position is required to have extensive knowledge/skills in data and voice network infrastructure. They are expected to multitask and prioritize their own workload, soliciting input from leadership as needed. Must be able to address and resolve complex logistical challenges. They are expected to work with both internal and external clients to ensure a quality solution is delivered and all issues are identified, escalated and resolved in a proactive manner. They are to ensure the TEM (Telecommunications Expense Management) process is functioning as designed.

Responsibilities include:
  • Place orders for all network (voice and data) services (domestic and international) utilizing all associated tools including vendor web based, internal and Microsoft products.
  • Coordinate carrier network services project work.
  • Perform the Telecommunication Expense Management function utilizing all associated tools including 3rd party web based, Oracle and Microsoft products.
  • Continuously audit spending in all categories to eliminate billing errors and to seek out savings opportunities.
  • Maintain circuit inventory, gather network usage reports, disconnect unused or underutilized services
  • Assist operational teams for services in the portfolio.

Minimum Requirements:
  • 4+ years relevant experience
  • 2+ years of telecom circuit provisioning, implementation and financial management
  • 2+ years of working with a Telecom Expense Management toolset
  • Experience in a SIP based telecommunications network
  • Effectively communicate with third-party world-wide resources
Preferred Requirements:
  • Prior experience in a global enterprise
  • Knowledge of facilities management including: Building construction milestones, Electrical readiness, telecommunication trenching / route engineering and Alarm panel telecommunication requirements
  • Experience working in an outsourced environment, the ability to drive designs and operational expectations thru contractual relationships
  • Understand network transport technologies (MPLS, Access Mechanisms, PSTN, etc.)
  • Strong business relationship skills
  • Proven experience leading large installation and upgrade projects
