The Enterprise Strategy team is responsible for creating, communicating and, in some cases, driving Best Buy's strategic actions to meet its purpose. They are frequently called upon by the Senior Leadership team to evaluate and connect the various actions of the company into a cohesive strategy that takes into account the functional strategies while prioritizing the Enterprise strategy. In cases, where the perspective to be evaluated is new to Best Buy (e.g. new lines of business, acquisitions, etc.) they are used to create new business level strategies.

As an Enterprise Strategy Consultant, you will work as a team member and lead specific strategic initiatives, including defining Enterprise strategy frameworks, dimensioning specific growth opportunities and enabling inorganic transactions. You will influence how work gets done within the team and be expected to lead without authority.

What will you do?

Develop strategic, business and financial analyses:
  • Develop analyses and presentations based on perspective gleaned from Officer-level individuals and complemented with your own strategic thinking with intra-team support

Conduct internal and external assessments:
  • Conduct due diligence of external partner and inorganic targets
  • Analyze how external companies and industries operate and make money
  • Assess internal functions and capabilities for relative quality and attributes compared with industry standards

Gain insight and perspective from Officer-level professionals to shape Enterprise-level decisions:
  • Lead gaining insight and perspective from officer-level professionals within Best Buy
  • Participate in gaining insight and perspective from external parties where sharing of Best Buy’s strategic approach is also shared

Conduct strategic capability projects (e.g. BoD presentation preparation, executive briefing, inorganic deal management):
  • Work at the direction of another Strategy team member, and sometimes take the lead, on projects

Basic Requirements (You must meet or exceed all basic requirements to be eligible)
  • Independent management of discrete projects
  • Ability to communicate succinctly to Officer-level individuals
  • Intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Conducting and interpreting Financial Analysis

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in management consulting, a start-up company, legal, corporate development, investment banking or corporate strategy
  • MBA
  • Project Management Experience
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity
