Associate Director - Technology Transformation

We are hiring an Associate Director for Technology Transformation to support this work and help lead and contribute to our technology team and talent initiatives. This role is focused on integrating cross-organizational objectives and bringing these ideas to life within our Digital and Technology organization.

This Associate Director role is responsible for leading strategic initiatives to partner across the organization to develop diverse technology pipelines and processes in support of our goal to hire 1,000 technologists. This role will lead and drive program objectives, develop and communicate Objectives & Key Results, and effectively collaborate with multiple stakeholders. A successful candidate will have experience managing cross-functional teams, driving technology diversity, equity and inclusion objectives forward (strategic direction set by the enterprise Inclusion and Diversity team), and facilitating discussions around inclusive teams, behaviors and representation.

A successful candidate may have diversity of experience in technology talent management, inclusion and diversity, change management, organizational development, business operations, and/or technology program management.

This role functions primarily as a team leader (direct and indirect teams) as well as an individual contributor for more complex and strategic areas working cross-functionality on high impact items. This critical role must work across the entire Digital & Technology Organization, and various partner organizations in Best Buy, including across multiple levels (Officers, Directors, peers and teams). Additionally, the role is leading in a transformational space through ambiguity in the plan and the path to get there. This role is embedded within the Digital and Technology organization / Technology Transformation organization and must collaborate with many partners and enterprise-wide organizations such as Enterprise Inclusion and Diversity, Enterprise Learning, Enterprise Talent Acquisition and more. The enterprise teams lead and drive the overall enterprise strategy, while this role is embedded with the Digital and Tech organization and connects with Digital and Technology strategy with the enterprise strategy.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 6 or more years of professional experience working with a large, matrixed organization
  • 3 or more years of experience in leadership development, instructional design and facilitation in the context of inclusion, diversity, equity and anti-racism
  • 3 or more years of experience in designing technology talent recruitment objectives and measuring effectiveness of technology talent pipeline
  • Proven ability to establish and shape functional objectives and key results in the context of inclusion, diversity, equity and anti-racism, including tracking and reporting on workforce analytical results
  • Proven ability to work closely with people and culture teams, leaders and hiring managers to assess and augment sourcing and selection processes as well as enhance programming focused on developing, mentoring, promoting, and retaining a diverse workforce
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8 or more years direct people management, leading high performing and engaged teams
  • 2 or more years of experience in transformation experience in people, process or technology transformation (engagement, process)
  • 2 or more years of experience in technical program management
  • Experience in facilitating train-the-trainer programs for leaders to ensure consistency in application of technology talent hiring practices
  • Experience with communication and change management, demonstrated experience with industry best practices and theory of communication approaches and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to create or contribute to strategic communication plans for impact and efficiency
  • Strong working knowledge of collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence, Slack, Teams, Outlook)
