Analyst, Recommerce Business

Through various primary and secondary marketplace channels, Best Buy needs to effectively manage and re-sell approximately 3 billion dollars in inventory each year. We do not recoup the total cost associated with the return and resale of these products, so maximizing and measuring recovery is extremely important to the success and profitability of the enterprise.

The Business Analyst - Recommerce focuses on facilitating the movement and sale of these products by the most profitable means possible. He/She will conduct sales channel and business performance analyses, sales and recovery forecasting, and strategic planning utilizing available data to determine trends and changes to drive key performance indicators. She/He will be focused on leveraging reporting that is actionable and enables reporting audiences to focus on key measures so they can change or modify operations that improve resale of inventory. This critical role will be highly collaborative (both peers and management) and responsible for communicating insights and recommendations to drive positive results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting, Forecasting, Analysis, and Decision Support
  • Facilitate end to end product disposition and sales through Best Buy’s online auction platform, TechLiquidators
  • Process and Business Rhythm Execution
  • Collaborate with finance and management to signal business risk or opportunities identified in performance results that drive overall Recommerce strategy
  • Gain team alignment with cross-functional partners to drive business plans
  • Perform all required tasks and processes in support of business rhythms
  • Support and lead all deliverables and ensure timelines are agreed upon and met
  • Cross-functional communication and partnerships
  • Develop a network of critical internal partners to effectively meet performance expectations within the role
  • Prepare and deliver effective communications up, down and across the organization

Basic Requirements
  • 2 or more years of Inventory Management, Demand Planning, Forecasting or Supply Chain experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • At least 2 years strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • At least 2 years understanding of business and financial concepts
  • At least 2 years ability to deliver analysis that consistently provide insights on “what the numbers are saying” and recommendations
  • At least 2 years skills in navigating through various systems to obtain information and create advanced spreadsheets and PowerPoint decks
  • At least 2 years ability to sense check data for accuracy and challenges unreasonable assumptions
  • At least 2 years ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving team environment and across functional groups
  • The ability to influence without authority. Use developed communication and diplomacy skills to direct, persuade and influence others.
  • The ability to analyze complex problems and make accurate decisions
  • The ability to communicate effectively and exchange information with team members, leaders and cross-functional partners
