This Senior Specialist position will be primarily responsible for the sourcing, negotiation, and contracting activities that support the following subcategories under Corporate Services: Finance, Financial Services, Travel and Meetings and Events programs as well as , various services supporting HR, Legal and Risk Management.


What will you do?
This Senior Specialist role will support the sourcing of complex services and will be responsible for the management of typically high volume and low/medium complexity projects. Responsibilities include:
  • Supplier Sourcing and Portfolio Management (create and maintain portfolio of available and preferred suppliers and proactively manage contract expirations and renewals)
  • Supplier Relationship Management (identify and establish relationships with credible suppliers and create a mutually beneficial relationship)
  • Contract Management (create and manage contracts, managing and monitoring compliance, and reducing exposure to risk factors)

Perform Procurement functions:
  • Support Category leadership with category management activities
  • Understand and apply 7 step sourcing process and business goals.
  • Understand contract templates and appropriate application. Can articulate implications and tradeoffs of key terms.
  • Has ownership and understanding of their sub-category(s) contracts/projects and understands their full life cycle.
  • Understands and complies with cross functional requirements and processes
  • Support communications with cross-functional areas in establishing and sustaining this function, ensuring compliance in the use of sourcing and procurement services
  • Prioritize incoming requests, effectively escalate issues and contribute to resolution.
  • Reconcile issues with partners by identifying root causes and providing creative solutions.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure a total sourcing and procurement solution is delivered to Best Buy.

Basic Requirements:
  • 2 years+ of Procurement, Buying, or Legal related experience to include sourcing, negotiation, contracting or equivalent
  • 1 year project and process management
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships
  • Strong communication skills
  • Business and financial acumen
  • PC proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Adaptable and able to work independently in a remote environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or closely related fields
  • 3 or more years of Procurement experience to include sourcing, negotiation and contracting in category-specific procurement or legal equivalent experience, with outsourced relationship/partner development
  • 3 or more years of demonstrated professional negotiation, analytical, planning and execution skills
