Provide technical support to multi-location, multi-state warehousing and distribution center facilities on material handling, material storage, builidng maintenance and conveyor systems. Develop and implement engineered solutions that supports business development. Estimate and write captial expenditure requests. Implements projects for distribution center material handling systems in new and existing locations. Additional to the engineering technical experience, good communication, collaboration, and project management skills are required. Is expected to manage projects with cross functional teams of corporate and field staff as well as suppliers. This position involves approximately 40% travel.

This position is based out of the Best Buy's Corporate Campus in Minneapolis, Mn.

Bachelors in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or Architecture

Professional engineering certifications

MS office project

Maintenance Program Management experience

Basic understanding of CAD applications

Best Buy's Asset Protection department is a successful branch of the greater Best Buy Enterprise "tree" whose main purpose is to provide support (i.e.- the tree's "roots") for insuring a successful, ethical and safe operation across all of Best Buy's brands worldwide.

The Summer Internship program in Asset Protection is a 10 - 12 week paid internship for a local Criminal Justice undergrad candidate who is seeking experience in either retail/corporate loss prevention or law enforcement. As an Asset Protection intern, you will be an integral part of the corporate Asset Protection team and your contributions will help establish a greater efficiency and provide a more effective infrastructure for the department in succeeding fiscal years.

A summer intern experience in our corporate Asset Protection office may include the following:

·Procure and analyze data regarding Asset Protection equipment currently deployed in Best Buy stores

·Evaluate vendor performance, specific to first-time resolution, response time, and billing accuracy

·Gather prototype information regarding new technologies or vendor products

·Research standard operating protocol (SOP) documentation to assist in ease of information retrieval and consistency with current policy

·Analyze yearly capital and expense spending, per store type, revenue band, age, etc.

·Develop and/or query reports for Exception analysis

·Convert audit research data (analytics, safety) into a usable format

·Follow-up on store based Asset Protection or safety trainings to determine overall effectiveness of the same

·Compare shrink results throughout brands, territories, and by product category

Basic Requirements:

·Junior year status-graduating in winter of 2010 or spring of 2011

·Minimum 3.0 GPA

·Must be eligible for permanent employment in the United States upon graduation

·Experience with successfully developing and executing strategic business plans

·Demonstrate Product Management experience with a successful history of developing and implementing new insurance/assurance products and programs

·Strong ability to influence senior leadership and manage cross-functional business teams

·Strong ability to network and partner with internal and external business partners and industry peers

·Ability to demonstrate the following competencies:
