Description

The Project Manager (SPM) job is a dual role position: The first role is primarily responsible for the delivery of business objectives and benefits through management of assigned projects; as a second role the job holder may or may not be responsible for the direct management and development of project management staff.

As an individual contributor, the position is expected to effectively manage functional (supply chain) projects that are likely cross functional, and challenging in nature. The position is expected to provide and model best practice in process leadership, coaching, training (both vertically and horizontally) as well as supporting the development of a durable culture of process improvement.

As a people manager, the position is expected to support staff in the execution of their duties and to provide supportive environment in which they can pursue either a Mastery or Mobility development option. This will be accomplished by leveraging the BBY Talent System to ensure appropriate staff selection, on-going performance management, personal and career development, and rewards/recognition.

Finally, this role is expected to work with other managers within the Supply Chain Solutions team to provide effect and collaborative management and leadership.

Basic Qualifications:

HS diploma or Equivalent

Four or more years of project management, or other formal process improvement, experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree

Two or more years of retail Supply Chain

Supervisory experience preferably corporate and/or process improvement setting

Formal Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP certification)

Lean, Lean Six Sigma Certification (e.g., Green or Black Belt)
