Role Summary:

The Director of Sourcing and Category Management plays a key role on the leadership team in the Procurement (Commercial Office) organization within the Global Business Services structure. The Director of Sourcing and Category Management leads and effectively manages a team responsible for world-class strategic sourcing, contracting, and performance managing of suppliers who provide non-merchandise goods and services for the Best Buy organization. This role closely collaborates with the Procurement Operations team as well as global counterparts and outsourced providers, to ensure consistency of high-quality execution across the Procurement portfolio of spend, and drive down total cost of ownership on the not-for-resale goods and services acquired by Best Buy (the initial emphasis of the role will be on the 1 Billion dollar IT category; with the possibility that the ideal candidate may ideal inherit additional categories). The job holder interacts with and influences officers and directors from all parts of the Best Buy Enterprise, and also performs external communication functions related to sourcing, networking, benchmarking and public speaking. As a leader on the Procurement team, this role provides input to the strategic direction of the business function, performs effective change management techniques and communication practices, and develops high performing teams.

·8 or more years of Sourcing and Category Management; including negotiation, contracting and supplier performance management

·5 or more years of experience managing a team, consisting of either direct or indirect reports

The position leads and effectively manages a team responsible for establishing and managing enterprise procurement capability, programs and systems related to e-procurement/e-sourcing, procurement process, contract administration, supplier performance program, sourcing support programs, travel management, corporate wireless category management, and T&E reimbursement management. These functions support the efforts to drive total cost of ownership for goods not for resale. This function collaborates closely with the Strategic Sourcing and Category Management team, as well as global counterparts and outsourced providers, to ensure consistency of high-quality execution of programs, and drive down total cost of ownership on the not-for-resale goods and services acquired by Best Buy. This position interacts with and influences officers and directors from all parts of the Best Buy Enterprise, and also performs external communication functions related to sourcing, networking, benchmarking and public speaking. Basic Qualifications:

·BS/BA degree

·8 or more years of experience with Procurement operations and capability development

·5 or more years of proven experience overseeing the implementation or upgrade of procurement related technical systems

A 10 - 12 week paid internship at our corporate headquarters in Richfield, MN. An internship will consist of approximately:

·85% performing tasks that are fundamental to the role

·15% opportunity for intern training, networking activities and special projects or other work as directed by supervisor

This role is for a summer internship in the Customer Care department (ECC) which includes phone, email, chat & mail customer interactions. The person in this role is responsible for preparing and analyzing data received by and for the Customer Care. Reports are prepared and information communicated providing insights into key performance indicators for & the customer experience. It also requires the ability analyze data for accuracy & resolve issues. Information must be compiled in a way that is meaningful and insightful to the business.

Create/Modify/Maintain reports for Customer Care using Business Objects, MS Access, MS Excel, SQL and ODBC. Analyze data and communicate results and recommendations to Best Buy leaders taking into account customer experience.

·Participate in intern training & development opportunities

·Analyze data so that that it is checked for accuracy and proper issue resolution. Make the necessary updates.

·Attend meetings with the business teams to assess needs and provide recommendations on data that can be presented to assist their areas.

·Maintain documentation of existing and future reporting and analysis processes & other duties/projects as assigned

Basic Requirements:

·Junior year status-graduating in winter of 2010 or spring of 2011

·Minimum 3.0 GPA

·Must be eligible for permanent employment in the United States upon graduation

·

Must be a Computer Science or Management Information System (MIS) major

·

Must have completed at least 1 year of course work in classes related to major

Preferred:

·Retail or customer facing experience

·Experience with Business Objects or other Microsoft & Database systems
