* Drive alignment between the overall Capability Architecture and the Enterprise Architecture - influencing application, data and integration standards in the context of the Best Buy Enterprise and best practices related to the capabilities they support
* Ensure all solutions support Best Buy Security standards
* Ensure the capability architecture adheres to established architecture principles and standards
* Define a solution architecture to support capability roadmaps
* Develop a capability architecture that meets functional and non functional business needs
* Consult with product capability teams on process, application, technology and data issues that affect solution integrity
* Review requirements, use cases, designs and test cases to ensure architectural soundness and adherence to a holistic capability architecture
* Drive solution changes to the core capabilities and approve individual program/project designs
* Participate in transitioning the solution architectures to project teams and ensure a clear and complete understanding
* Participate in the governance and release processes related to the capability area
* Participate in quality management reviews ensuring the solution architecture and related work products satisfy the requirements
* Identify and resolve cross-capability and cross-release architectural and design issues that affect the capability roadmaps
* Provide assessments of architectural risk and mitigation strategies
* Accountable for all related architectural blueprints and related metadata
* Participate in the creation and modification of development methodologies
* Participate in the selection and implementation of all development tools

The successful candidates will have:

* Deep functional and technical understanding of applications and technologies within specific capability areas.
* A clear understanding of Best Buy architecture standards and governance processes and Best in Class architectural practices
* Ability to set architectural direction for capability areas
* Ability to identify architecture components for reuse across the capability areas
* High-level understanding of IT and IT's priorities, strategies and current capabilities
* Deep understanding of the business cases and strategies
* Ability to determine the architectural implications of the business strategies to each of the respective architecture layers (process, application, information, technology)
* Clear understanding of ongoing and planned projects and their inter-dependencies/ timelines

High school degree or equivalent

* 12 or more years broad experience in one more of the following areas, with demonstrated progression of responsibilities:
* Enterprise, technical/infrastructure, data, application or integration architecture
* Design of large scale platforms with a wide variety of technologies
* Large program delivery or management

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelors Degree in Information Systems or other related area.
* Most recent 2-3 years of experience include roles with architecture responsibilities
* 3 or more years experience leading cross-functional technology teams
* Experience in a leadership role of all phases of a systems lifecycle
* Experience working within a global organization or programs
* Experience working in multi-channel and/or multi-brand organizations
* Experience working within a consumer-oriented organization in retail, digital business or related industries
