The Category Specialist is responsible for the category management (sourcing, negotiation, contracting and supplier management) for an established portfolio of highly similar and non-complex products and services.  (Non-complex products and services generally have a lower cost, are more transactional in nature, and risk of supplier or product failure is low to the organization.)  The purpose of the position is to reduce the total cost of ownership for non-merchandise goods and services aquired by Best Buy by proactive category management in alignment with category strategies and by leveraging world-class negotiation and sourcing strategies, tools and processes.
