Sr. Sales/Use Tax Audit Analyst Job
Location: Corporate Headquarters-Richfield, MN, US
The Senior Sales/Use Tax Audit Analyst will assist the sales/use tax audit manager with scheduling and preparing for sales tax audits and will work closely with the manager to provide responses to auditor's information requests. The Sr. Analyst will be responsible for collecting all tax audit related information and reporting, proactively evaluating tax exposure and developing audit strategies to defend tax positions. Additionally, the Sr. Analyst will review preliminary/final work papers, create work plans to reduce assessments, and make recommendations to the audit manager.
The Sr. Analyst will coordinate audits with tax compliance, tax planning and tax system managers to achieve optimal audit results. Work closely with business leaders to provide guidance in implementation of audit strategies and provide support to business operations to minimize exposure of tax audits. Timely communication of audit results to management. Draft appeal letters and technical memorandums. Prepare refund claims, coordinate reverse audits, and perform internal sales/use tax audits.
The Sr. Analyst will also perform audits of SOX key controls.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
5 or more years of sales and use tax experience within a large complex organization
3 or more years of sales and use tax audit experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in accounting and sales/use tax within a large complex organization
Experience in performing audits and compiling refund claims
Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley controls
CMI or CPA
