Sr. Manager - Search Marketing

This Marketing Manager is part of Best Buy's Digital Marketing team. The Search Marketing Manager is responsible for creating search engine marketing strategies and support to the segments, domains and business teams. This position works collaboratively on a internal cross-functional basis and with Agency partners. He/She provides leadership in structuring compelling, innovative and effective approaches to use search engine marketing to meet the Enterprise needs including both paid and organic search practices. Strong collaboration and partnership with BBY.com online marketing team and Brand teams are key connections of this position. Manager must possess in-depth knowledge of search marketing, customer behaviors, and a strong background in analytics.

Strategic Planning

· Creates strategic search marketing plans for larger or more complex business units, campaigns, and enterprise brand marketing initiatives. Plans generally have a twelve month planning horizon and optimization monthly. Frequently co-creates with Agency, BBY.com, and other business stakeholders.

· Leads the development of search marketing business cases. Produces reports that connect data to business issues.

· Identifies and recognizes new search relationships, partnerships, and customer trends to ensure Best Buy remains at the forefront of SEM.

· Partner with internal marketing/adv teams, BBY.com and agency partners to understand marketing objectives, provide strategic consulting and ensure appropriate execution resource support

· Partner with internal online marketing team to optimize and integrate search programs; continually work to identify opportunities to improve programs, metrics, analysis, and performance. Responsible for producing weekly performance reports; Collaborate with Business teams to feed SEM specific findings and results into broader online and offline media and business strategies

· Demonstrates how plans support the broader company strategies. Anticipates business needs; provides relevant insights and recommendations accordingly.

· Researches current market trends; develops progressive, relevant approaches to positively affect business. Demonstrates how plans will provide the company with a competitive advantage.

· Intellectually curios and stays up-to-date in order to advise leaders and cross-functional teams of the latest trends in SEM
Understands the tradeoffs and expense implications of plans.

Project and Program Execution

· Primarily manage the execution of (and some execution of) strategic plans. Creates process plans for larger or more complex working systems within the company. Considers required inputs, outputs and interdependencies. Efficiently and expertly solicits multiple points of view (POV) from intra-functional partners; develops a common POV to deliver a result.

· Understands and assesses the impact of changes; adapts own work and other's work to support and drive those changes.

· Oversees execution end-to-end. Selects appropriate resources, proactively anticipates and manages issue resolution, proposes solutions.

· Leads Agency relationship and internal Search Analysts which drive day-to-day activities, execution, and reporting.

· Responsible for the development and execution of search marketing plans for the BBY brand.

· Recommends and leads the implementation of process improvements.

Ensures teams complete projects on time and within budget.

People Leadership

· Provides clear direction, feedback and development to direct reports and mentees as applicable.

· Creates and manages team assignments based on strengths, talents, group dynamics and business needs.

Actively participates in attracting high-quality and diverse talent.

Required Qualifications:

·6 plus years of Search Marketing experience at an Agency Director level or Search Strategist level

·6 plus years of People or resource leadership experience

·2 plus search analytics experience

Preferred Qualifications:

·Bachelors degree in Liberal Arts, Marketing, Interactive Marketing, New Media, Business Administration or related

·Graduate degree

·Interactive agency, media, retail and/or CPG experience

·2 plus years National brand experience
