The St e-Business Architect will guide efforts to develop and integrate technologies into the online channel roadmap of priority initiatives. In addition, this position will give architectural direction as the website is reengineered into a web services platform.
Position requires excellent communication and cross-functional working skills. Position also requires strong business, technical, and e-commerce expertise to affect excellent outcomes on Bestbuy.com and all managed online properties.
Responsibilities:
Online Channel Architecture Planning
* Key participant in developing and executing the online channel technology architecture vision, strategies, and tactics to support revenue objectives and business expectations for an exceptional customer experience.
* Identify and integrate Industry best practices and develop strategic relationships with leaders in the emerging web technology space
Capability Development
* Key participant in assessing online landscape and determine which new emerging capabilities the online channel should be pursuing
* Create patterns and practices for uniform web development and operational architecture
* Creates roadmap for integrating the new capabilities into the online channel
* Provides direction to teams delivering the technology
Organizational Effectiveness
* Foster strong working relationships across enterprise to ensure integrated and consistent approach to creating capabilities and transformation to web services.
People
* Guide, coach and mentor developers
Required Qualifications:
· High School diploma or equivalent
· 5 or more years of experience with emerging technologies in the internet space
· Experience with developing strong relationships with emerging technology companies
· Experience developing strong professional relationships and influencing peers, management and other teams
· 5 or more years of Web Architecture experience in complex business environments
· 3 or more years of experience with agile development (XP, Scrum, Hybrid, Crystal, or DSDM acceptable)
· 5 or more years of experience with high-availability/high-scalability systems
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree
· Proficient Java experience
· Experience with the Spring Framework
· Resource-oriented architectures
· Event-driven architectures
· Automated deployment
· Automated functional testing
· Ruby, Scala, or Clojure
· Experience with either Kanban or Lean development processes
· Hadoop or Greenplum systems
· Strong communication and facilitation skills
