Senior Manager, International Controllership Job

The Senior Manager's role is vital to enabling Best Buy to expand successfully internationally. A primary focus of this role in the International Controller function is to establish the financial infrastructure for our entry into new countries, including, the financial policies, procedures and timing of new financial operations in new countries. This will require successful partnerships with the tax, legal and operational functions at Corporate and in our in-country teams. This role will also explore improvements in our existing infrastructure such as shared service operations to leverage our infrastructure worldwide.
In addition, Best Buy has expressed its interest in doubling the size of the company and will partially achieve this through acquisitions, which will necessitate an active role in the due diligence, integration and consolidation of new operations, countries and ventures into our organization. The Senior Manager will play a central role in that activity.
The Senior Manager will also provide assistance in the international accounting topics and issues that arise throughout the world to determine the proper accounting or for support within the Best Buy organization. Each day will bring unanticipated and undefined challenges that will provide the opportunity to resolve, respond and provide solutions.
Last, we are responsible for the financial integrity and controls across the world. This involves a proactive approach to understand the controls and processes across the different reporting countries and to develop consistency and ensure integrity to those processes. The Manager role on the team will have this as their primary focus, but the Senior Manager will be able to support this aspect of our responsibilities while interacting with our partners throughout the world.
Responsibilities:
·Establish our global financial infrastructure
·Drive global Finance harmony through timely and quality responses to international requests and by advocating the Globalization of Finance processes
·Support the due diligence, integration and ongoing success of acquisitions, joint ventures, etc.
·Ensure worldwide integrity of controls. Drive consistency across the world, including with the US, where applicable
·Identify and drive process improvement initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
3 or more years experience developing complex end-to-end Financial business processes
2 or more years experience developing partnerships in multiple cultures and countries to drive change
5 or more years experience researching and identifying the appropriate technical accounting solutions to complex tasks
Ability to travel and commit to the demands of the international schedule and time of day
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA
CPA
6 or more years experience of managing a challenging list of tasks to timely completion
Advanced written and verbal communication skills
A leader that balances independent thought and action with informed consent of leadership
An advocate for the customer
