As a Senior Financial Analyst for Management Reporting you will apply your analytical, technical and communication skills to Best Buy Canada's reporting needs, serving as a liaison between Finance, Retail and the Merchandising teams. In this role, the individual works specifically on mobile/wireless business for both brands and will focus on strategic reporting needs and performance improvement projects (e.g., new business concepts, redesign of existing processes). As a member of the Management Reporting team, the individual will be responsible for assisting the business in setting the strategic direction for reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
· Responsible for all mobile/wireless reporting for merchants, retail operations and any other clients business to capture their reporting needs and develop solutions to fulfill the business requirements. This includes bonus files, wireless scorecards, P&L, and any other reporting requirements for both FS and BBY brands.
· Key point of contact for mobile and wireless reporting and information. Liaison between Finance and business clients for mobile/wireless business.
· Provide EVA, allocation entries and joint venture requirements for mobile and wireless. Support any Mobile presentations, forecasting and budgeting responsibilities. Support the business with all inquiries (P&L, handsets, etc)
· Provide reporting support on an ad-hoc basis with various projects (strategic initiatives, etc)
· Play a team role within Management Reporting. This may include activities such as supporting the team and helping in the planning & reporting processes (vacation coverage) and contributing in building a cohesive and fun team.
Education and Experience:
· Required - Bachelor's Degree - preferably in Business/Finance/Accounting, MBA or Professional Accounting Designation would be an asset
· Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skill s (a short test may be given)
Experience with Oracle Financials, Business Objects and Cognos Business Intelligence tools would be an asset
Strong business acumen and analytical skills with the ability to conduct sanity checks on reporting/scorecards
Retail experience is an asset
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Ability to explain theories and concepts in simple terms to a variety of stakeholders
Understanding of the principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and management reporting
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of departments, including Senior Leadership
Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership
Ability to multi-task and to work with minimal supervision
Attention to detail is a must
