The mission of Brand and Marketing Insights is to serve the Marketing organization by applying primary consumer research and analytics to answer business questions, de-risk decision-making, and measure performance, all in service of continuing to transform marketing and unlock growth for Best Buy. We are seeking an innovative, collaborative, and experienced analytical leader to join Best Buy's Brand and Marketing Insights team. The successful candidate will leverage well-honed leadership, consultative, and technical knowledge to build and support marketing measurement and insights capabilities.

The Senior Manager, Marketing Measurement provides technical leadership to drive critical business growth work streams while helping transform the technology strategy and solutions for marketing measurement and the marketing measurement data stack. This position is critical to Marketing Mix Optimization, Multi-Touch Attribution, and Vendor-Funded Campaign Reporting programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data collection, data quality, data transformation, data delivery to 3rd parties, all ETL process, database infrastructure for reporting and insights, and ad hoc business support.
  • Create and support data-centric strategy for Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA) Models, and Vendor-Funded Campaign Reporting (VFCR).
  • Owns QA strategy, operational process and accuracy of inbound media data that it leveraged across multiple marketing measurement modeling, reporting and insights capabilities.
  • Architect database solutions that are robust, scalable, efficient and adaptable to changes in marketing measurement programs, modeling providers, and future reporting and insights needs.
  • Document, design, build, enhance and support the data that goes into our marketing measurement data stacks as the backbone of our measurement programs.
  • Visualization and dashboard development – creates data process and database structures to support Tableau and ad hoc business reporting, both internal to the team as well as client-facing.
  • Provides work direction and development opportunities related to data sourcing, data structures, data sourcing and automation/ETL, and delivery to third parties.
  • Work cross functionally within Market & Consumer Insights to bring together multiple sources of information.
  • Responsible for database performance tuning (SQL and/or SAS code, owns extensive proprietary data load processes)
  • Data profiling and data quality assessments – creating data quality assessment code scripts; data quality presentation reports; data cleansing and quality improvement scripts
  • Shares subject matter expertise on industry or 3rd party vendor changes that impact marketing measurement (e.g., CCPA).

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
  • 10 or more years of experience with progressive leadership in marketing or analytics, business intelligence or related area
  • 10 or more years with database platforms (Teradata or Netezza) and applications to perform analytics or reporting
  • 10 or more years of experience with advanced SQL development and expertise in data transformation
  • 6 or more years of experience developing complex ETL for data loads and extractions
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas and results to non-technical business people, as well as Senior Leadership

Desired Qualifications (Not required but qualifications that make candidate a better fit for the position):
  • Masters in Statistics, Marketing Analytics, Data Science or related field
  • Experience in other statistical tools and languages such as R, SPSS, Python.
  • Experience with SAS, particularly Enterprise Guide and Enterprise Miner.
  • Experience in a consumer insights function for a global consumer-oriented organization in retail, manufacturing or a related industry
