The Analyst eInvestigations and Insider Threat responsibilities include electronic discovery, investigation/analysis, forensic, DLP technology research and implementation, data management and formal report writing. This position also includes assisting with early case assessment relative to data locations and technology capabilities, and ensuring data collections are consistent with records management guidelines. Responsibilities will also include digital forensic investigation support for compliance related cases.
The responsibilities of the role include:
  • Identify, collect and preserve data from existing Best Buys systems in a compliant and defensible manner
  • Report findings both verbally and in writing in a manner appropriate to the knowledge and experience of the audience
  • Train and advise internal stakeholders to ensure efficient use of the eDiscovery, Forensic and DLP platforms to meet the stated needs
  • Ensures that all investigations are appropriately approved and evidence handling (collection, analysis, sharing and preservation) is compliant with internal SOPs
  • Executing on projects involving the identification, collection, processing, review, and production of electronic data relevant to litigation or regulatory investigations
  • Preserve evidence as it relates to Investigation using sound evidentiary procedures
  • Perform timeline and root cause analysis and have the ability to present findings in a structured reporting format for use in court and/or presentation to management
  • Conduct digital media investigations; examines hard drives, storage devices, cell phones or any electronic device that may hold evidence
  • Performs a variety of forensic and electronic discovery and DLP services, including digital evidence preservation, forensic analysis, data recovery, electronic mail extraction, and database examination, DLP event management and investigation
  • Identify, collect and preserve data from existing systems in a compliant and defensible manner
  • Report findings both verbally and in writing in a manner appropriate to the knowledge and experience of the audience
  • Ensures that all investigations are appropriately approved and evidence handling (collection, analysis, sharing and preservation) is compliant with internal SOPs
Basic Qualifications: (You must meet or exceed all basic qualifications to be eligible)
  • 2 or more years of combined experience in Data Loss Prevention (DLP), eDiscovery, or Digital Forensics
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of commonly used forensic and e-discovery products (e.g. Encase, FTK, Nuix, Cellebrite, etc.)
  • Industry Certifications such as EnCE or Nuix
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages a plus
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
