China represents an exciting market for Best Buy. Consumer electronics sales in China are projected to be nearly US $100 billion in 2010 and projected to grow in the double digits for the next decade. We currently operate three offices in China (located in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzen) and have well-established relationships with manufacturers that are seeking to gain broader distribution in both China and North America.
With our first flagship Best Buy store in the Xu Jia Hui commercial area of Shanghai, we hope to enter the market in a way that enables us to learn about China’s diverse consumers.
